Bells Return to 36th Alumni Tailgate

By: Sam Clark ’19

This year was Bellarmine’s 36th annual alumni tailgate. Every year Bellarmine hosts the event right before an early season varsity football game. The tailgate serves as a fun reunion for Bellarmine graduates, who can enjoy good company, food, and drinks before the game. This year’s tailgate was another success despite the Bells not coming away with a win.

Jeff Rhodes, a Bell alumnus, talked about the importance of the Bellarmine community and the memories that he made at the school.

“I still remember all the St. Francis–Bell football games and how much fun I used to have going to all of them and cheering,” Rhodes said.

He explained how the tailgate was a great opportunity to reconnect with his fellow alums and reminisce in the memories they made at the school.

“I feel like I am still very much a part of the community since I still coach JV soccer and now have my oldest son at the school. It’s great to see him go out and do a lot of the things that I did in my day,” Rhodes said.
