This year, Bellarmine welcomes many new faces to the campus beyond just its incoming freshmen class. Among them is Mr. Van Tilburg, who will be serving the school in the Campus Ministry department. Before coming to Bellarmine, he finished up his master’s degree in pastoral ministry at Santa Clara University where he also worked as a campus minister and helped lead immersion programs for the college students. Before Santa Clara, he attended the University of San Diego where he majored in accounting. After two years in the accounting industry, he realized that accounting was not his vocation. He decided to become a campus minister based on the great experiences he had in high school and college. His favorite aspect of campus ministry is getting to know students on a deeper and spiritual level. In order to deepen his own faith, he prays the Examen on a daily basis and meditates to relax and release stress. Mr. Van Tilburg hopes to continue to get to know Bellarmine students and welcomes them all to his office where he keeps a guitar and little basketball hoop on his door. He is located in the back of SLC near the doorway to the gym.
