Although our Justice Summit wrapped up a couple of months ago, one organization continues to make an impact on peoples’ lives every day. One Love Impact hopes to “end relationship abuse and create a world where we can all love better.”
In attempts to spread the message, J.B Pellegrin ’20 and his brother Charlie Pellegrin ’22 gave a presentation on the organization during our Justice Summit Week. The club aims to educate others on the importance of a healthy relationship.
“Billions of photos are posted to social media every day, but you can’t always see the big picture through the small ones, especially when it comes to unhealthy relationships,” J.B. said.
One Love also ensures that everyone understands the difference between a healthy relationship and an unhealthy relationship. In a time where communication becomes more accessible, it is important to make sure people understand one’s limits, especially in a relationship.
J.B. serves as a team ambassador in the Bay Area, and Charlie plans on becoming one next year. They hope to spread their impact throughout the area, allowing others to understand the importance of their cause. One example is at Junipero Serra High School where a new curriculum has been implemented. This new curriculum helps to spread love, which is being accomplished through the various topics and themes for each grade level.
Pellegrin says that new curriculum “includes workshops at each grade level, plus student activities, two Teen Ambassadors and a Team One Love student club.”
Moving forward, the brothers hope to continue this initiative at Bellarmine, promoting kindness while educating others on the importance of maintaining healthy relationships.
