This past weekend, on Saturday (April 6th), Bellarmine College Preparatory’s Indian Student Coalition and Notre Dame High School’s South Asian Student Association hosted the 6th annual Nazaara Charity Show in Bellarmine’s Sobrato Theater.
At Nazaara, high school teams from across the Bay Area, including Archbishop Mitty High School, Irvington High School, and Evergreen High School came to participate in the fruitful show, whether it be through dancing to Bollywood and traditional songs or singing melodious tunes.
All proceeds from the show go towards OSAAT (One School At a Time), which is a charity organization in India which directs funding to build schools in underprivileged and rural areas.
This year’s roster from Bellarmine includes Vishaal Jagannadhan ’19, Gautama Manja ’19, Ashwin Pillai ’19, Rishi Balakrishnan ’19, Gaurav Rane ’19, Sameer Chaparala ’19, Varun Kolli ’19, Rishab Yeddula ’19, Telvin Ciby ’19, Suraj Roy ’20, Kevin Raphael ’20, Yusuf Halabi ’20, Aadit Trivedi ’21, Akshey Deokule ’21, Samarth Girish ’21, Vignesh Sundaram ’21, Rishabh Saxena ’21, and Manjodh Singh ’22.
Tickets were completely sold out, and the show’s MCs from Bellarmine and Notre Dame kept the full house entertained for about 3-4 hours.
In addition, some Bellarmine faculty including Dr. Sullivan and Mr. Salgaonkar along with fellow Bellarmine students came to support the dancers.
Overall, the show was a great success, and Bellarmine students and staff alike are looking forward to many more performances to come.
