Decorating a tree at Christmas in the Park is an annual tradition for the BCP Maker Lab. Every year, their maker community comes together to create a variety of unique ornaments that cover a Christmas tree in downtown San Jose and relate to a central theme. During this project, new members learn to use the Lab’s 3D Printers and Laser-cutter while effectively putting their Fusion 360 CAD skills to use.

This year, inspired by their aerospace research team, their theme was “Space Exploration.”

In 2021, their theme was “A Very Beary Christmas,” which yielded several bear-themed ornaments:

In 2020, their theme was “A Nightmare Before Christmas,” which produced a combination of both spooky and merry decorations:

And in 2019, the theme was open-ended:

Which tree is your favorite?
