Q: Can you provide a summary of your time at Bellarmine and share some of your most memorable moments?
A: In addition to coaching sports at Bellarmine, I’ve been chaperoning the Tijuana Immersion Trip since my second year here, and I’ll be accompanying the students on the trip this year as well. I’ve enjoyed spending time with the students and assisting families in need. Additionally, I’ve accompanied Bell students on Kairos for the past ten years, and I highly recommend it as an excellent personal growth experience. I’ve also assisted athletes in their weight room training.
Q: What motivated your decision to start your own fitness and sports training business?
A: I was motivated to launch my own business as it would enable me to collaborate with other coaches, be my own boss, and assist athletes of all ages and abilities in their self-improvement journeys.
Q: Could you provide insight into your vision for your new fitness and sports training business? What are some of the key services or approaches you plan to offer?
A: My new venture is named “Fast Strength,” and it focuses on enhancing clients’ strength and fitness by teaching them to move more efficiently and effectively.
Q: How do you believe your experience as a high school coach has prepared you for this new career chapter?
A: Working with elite athletes at Bellarmine and collaborating with other coaches and professionals in this field over the past 11 years has provided me with a broad perspective and experience that I can apply to my new business. Additionally, I plan to focus on addressing past injuries, and the experience I’ve gained during my coaching career at Bellarmine in this area will be extremely valuable.
Q: What are you most enthusiastic about as you launch your fitness and sports training business?
A: I am excited about growing the business and establishing lasting relationships and connections with athletes and other professionals in an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated.
Q: Do you intend to continue DJing?
A: Whether or not I continue DJing depends on my availability as I want to concentrate on building the business. However, I am open to DJing at Bellarmine if my schedule permits.
Q: Do you have any messages or advice for your student athletes and the Bellarmine community?
A: My message to all students is to maintain a positive attitude and work towards being a positive force for change in the world. I wish everyone at Bell the best and would like students to remember this quote: “Don’t let the world change your smile, but let your smile change the world.”
